1. | Connect the HDS to the data link connector (A) located under the driver's side of the dashboard.

2. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
3. | Make sure the HDS communicates with vehicle. If it doesn't troubleshoot the DLC circuit |
4. | Select the BODY ELECTRICAL, then enter the TEST MODE menu, and check the DTCs. NOTE: For specific operations, refer to the user's manual that came with the HDS. |
5. | If any DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting. NOTE: If B1008 and B1011 are indicated, troubleshooting the B1008 first (beginning with the lowest number first). |
Special Tools Required
MPCS short connector ( 07WAZ-0010100)
1. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
2. | Connect the MPCS short connector (A) to the MICU service check connector (B), and turn the switch (C) on.

3. | After 5 to 10 seconds, the DTCs which have been detected and stored individually by various B-CAN unit, will be indicates one by one on the odo/trip display if the communication line between the MICU and the gauge control module is OK.
