Brake Booster Replacement

RHD Type


1.Remove the air cleaner: R18A1 engine model, K20Z2 engine model.

2.K20Z2 engine model: Remove the exhaust manifold cover.

3.Remove the master cylinder.

4.Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (A) from the brake booster (B).

 

5.Except EPS type: Remove the power steering pressure hose stay (A).

 

6.Remove the fuel hose stay (A).

 

7.Remove the water hoses or valve mounting bracket (A).

NOTE:
  • Do not disconnect the inlet heater hose (B).
  • K20Z2 engine model: Open the cable clamp (C) , then disconnect the heater valve cable (D) from the heater valve arm (E).

8.Except K20Z2 engine model: Remove the throttle body from intake manifold.

NOTE: Do not disconnect the connectors or hoses.

9.K20Z2 engine model: Remove the engine wire harness clamps (A).

 

10.K20Z2 engine model: Remove the fuel hoses and lines brackets (A) from passenger's side of engine, and remove the ignition coil cover.

NOTE: Do not disconnect the fuel lines.

 

11.Remove the lock pin (A) and the joint pin (B), then loosen the nut (C) and disconnect the yoke (D) from the brake pedal.

 

12.Remove the brake booster mounting nuts (E).

13.Remove the york from the brake booster rod (F).

14.Pull the brake booster (A) forward.



  • Be careful not to damage the booster surfaces and the threads on the booster stud bolts.
  • Be careful not to bend or damage the brake lines or other components hoses and lines.

15.Remove the brake booster to passenger's side by pulling it out and turning it, and remove it from the engine compartment.

16.Install the brake booster in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
