19. | Disconnect the input shaft (mainshaft) speed sensor connector (A) and the 2nd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch connector (B).
20. | Disconnect the ATF warmer hoses (A) from the ATF lines (B). Turn the end of the ATF warmer hoses up to prevent ATF from flowing out, then plug the hoses and lines.
21. | Remove the bolts securing the ATF warmer. Do not disconnect the ATF hoses and water by-pass hoses from the ATF warmer.
22. | Disconnect the shift solenoid harness connector (A) and the 3rd clutch transmission fluid pressure switch connector (B), and remove the harness clamps (C) from the clamp brackets (D).
23. | Remove the harness clamp (A) from its bracket (B), and remove the radiator hose (C) from the clamp (D).
24. | Remove the engine cover.
25. | Disconnect the connectors (A), remove the ACG terminal (B), and remove the harness clamp (C) from its bracket (D).
26. | Remove the bolts securing the harness covers on the engine.
27. | Disconnect the connectors (A) and vacuum tube (B).
28. | Remove the bolts securing the harness cover (C), and remove the harness cover from its bracket. |
29. | Remove the air cleaner housing mounting bracket (D). |
30. | Remove the harness cover bracket (A), and install the hanger plate (B) to the bolt hole (C) above the harness cover bracket hole (D) with 8 x 1.25-16 mm bolt (E). Use only the 8 x 1.25 mm and 16 mm in length of the threaded bolt. If you use other than 16 mm threaded-length bolt, it may damage the engine cylinder head.
31. | Install the engine support hanger (AAR-T1256-J00) to the vehicle, and attach the hook (A) to the hanger plate chain (B). Tighten the wing nut (C) by hand, and lift and support the engine.
32. | Remove the nuts and bolt securing the lower arm and ball joint, and separate the lower arms from the ball joints.
33. | Remove both body mount brackets.
34. | Remove the steering gearbox mounting bracket bolts. NOTE: Steps 34 thru 38 describe steering gearbox removal for the LHD model with hydraulic assisted power steering; RHD model is symmetrical. If you remove the gearbox on the model with electrical power steering, go to 39.
35. | Remove the steering gearbox mounting bolt (rear) (A), stiffener mounting bolt (B), and stiffener (C).
36. | Remove the bolt (D) securing the power steering fluid line clamp bracket (E). |
37. | Remove the steering gearbox mounting bolt (front) (A), stiffener mounting bolt (B), and stiffener (C).
38. | Remove the bolt (A) securing the power steering fluid line bracket (B) on the right of the front subframe, and remove the power steering fluid line (C) from the clamp (D).
39. | Remove the steering gearbox bracket mounting bolts. NOTE: Steps 39 thru 42 describe gearbox removal for electrical power steering model.
40. | Remove the steering gearbox mounting bolt (A), stiffener mounting bolt (B), and stiffener (C).
41. | Remove the steering gearbox mounting bolt (A), stiffener mounting bolt (B), stiffener (C), and the bolt (D) securing the harness clamp bracket.
42. | Remove the bolt securing the harness clamp bracket.
