Engine Oil Pan Removal

1.If the engine is already out of the vehicle, go to 17.

2.Raise the vehicle on the hoist to full height.

3.Drain the engine oil.

4.Remove the front wheels.

5.Remove the splash shield.

6.Separate the stabilizer links.

7.Separate the knuckles from the lower arms.

8.Remove the steering gearbox bracket. Remove the steering gearbox mounting bolt, stiffener mounting bolt, and stiffener.

9.Remove the steering gearbox mounting bolt, stiffener mounting bolt, and stiffener. Remove the harness clamp from the subframe.

10.Remove the bolt securing the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) filter (A/T).

 

11.Remove the lower torque rod.

12.Remove the front mount mounting bolt (M/T).

13.Make the appropriate reference lines at both ends of the subframe that line up with the body.

14.Loosen the mid-stiffener mounting bolts on both sides.

15.Support the front subframe with the wood piece and a jack.

16.Remove the subframe.

17.Remove the lower torque rod bracket.

 

18.Remove the shift cable cover (A/T).

 

19.Remove the torque converter cover/clutch cover.

 

20.Remove the bolts securing the oil pan.

21.Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the block in the places shown.

 

22.Remove the oil pan.
