DTC P2118: | Throttle Actuator Current Range/Performance Problem |
1. | Jump the SCS line with the HDS. |
2. | Disconnect ECM/PCM connector C (44P). |
3. | Measure resistance between ECM/PCM connector terminals C3 and C4.
Is there about 1.0 W or less? YES - Go to 4. NO - Go to 15. |
4. | Disconnect the throttle body 6P connector. |
5. | At the throttle body side, measure resistance between throttle body 6P connector terminals No. 5 and No. 6 with the throttle fully closed.
Is there about 1.0 W or less? YES - Go to 6. NO - Repair short in the wires between the ECM/PCM C3 (ETCSM- line) and C4 (ETCSM+ line), then go to 7. |
6. | Replace the throttle body. |
7. | Reconnect all connectors. |
8. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
9. | Reset the ECM/PCM with the HDS. |
10. | Do the ECM/PCM idle learn procedure. |
11. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
12. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
13. | Slowly press the accelerator pedal to the floor. |
14. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P2118 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle body and the ECM/PCM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. NO - Troubleshooting is complete.n |
15. | Update the ECM/PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good ECM/PCM. |
16. | Turn the ignition switch OFF. |
17. | Turn the ignition switch ON (II). |
18. | Slowly press the accelerator pedal to the floor. |
19. | Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs with the HDS. Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated? YES - If DTC P2118 is indicated, check for poor connections or loose terminals at the throttle body and the ECM/PCM, then go to 1. If any other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. |
