Steering Wheel Downshift (-) Switch Test

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, and the precautions and procedures before performing repair or service.

1.Remove the steering wheel.

2.Check the steering wheel downshift (-) switch for continuity between steering switch harness 20P connector terminals No. 7 and No. 17.
There should be continuity while pressing the steering wheel downshift (-) switch, and no continuity when the switch is released.

 

3.Steering wheel downshift (-) switch test has finished if the test result is OK.
If the switch works incorrectly at the 20P connector, test the switch at the switch connector.

4.Remove steering wheel downshift (-) switch connector from its holder, and disconnect the connector.

 

5.Check the steering wheel downshift (-) switch for continuity between the switch connector terminals while pressing the switch and when the switch is released.
There should be continuity while pressing the switch, and no continuity when the switch is released.

6.Replace the steering wheel downshift (-) switch if the switch works incorrectly.

7.Replace the steering switch harness if the switch is OK.
