1. | Lift the vehicle up on a hoist, or apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels, and raise the front of the vehicle. Make sure it is securely supported. |
2. | Remove the splash shield. |
3. | Remove the drain plug (A), and drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF).
|
4. | Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (B). |
5. | Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then disconnect the positive cable. |
6. | Remove the battery hold-down bracket, and remove the battery and battery tray. |
7. | Remove the air intake duct and air cleaner housing. |
8. | Remove the battery base and resonator. |
9. | Remove the shift solenoid valve cover (A), dowel pins (B), and gasket (C).
|
10. | Disconnect the shift solenoid valve connectors.
|
11. | Remove the mounting bolts, then hold the solenoid valve body and remove the solenoid valves. Do not hold the connector to remove the solenoid valve.
|
12. | Install new O-rings (two O-rings per solenoid valve) (F) on the reused solenoid valve. NOTE: A new solenoid valve comes with new O-rings. If you install a new solenoid valve, use the O-rings provided on it. |
13. | Install shift solenoid valve C (brown connector), D (black connector), and E (black connector) by holding the solenoid valve body; make sure the mounting bracket contacts the servo body. NOTE: Do not hold the solenoid valve connector to install the solenoid valve. Be sure to hold the solenoid valve body. |
14. | Install shift solenoid valve B (brown connector) by holding the solenoid valve body; make sure the mounting bracket contacts the bracket of shift solenoid valve E. |
15. | Install shift solenoid valve A (brown connector) by holding the solenoid valve body; make sure the mounting bracket contacts the bracket of shift solenoid valve D. NOTE: Do not install shift solenoid valve A and B before installing shift solenoid valve D and E. If shift solenoid valve A or B is installed before installing shift solenoid valve D or E, it may damage to hydraulic control system. |
16. | Connect YEL,WHT, WHT harnesses terminal to shift solenoid valve D. The ATF temperature sensor is installed in the connector. |
17. | Connect BLU harness terminal to shift solenoid valve A, ORN harness terminal to shift solenoid valve B, GRN harness terminal to shift solenoid valve C, and RED harness terminal to shift solenoid valve E. |
18. | Install the shift solenoid valve cover, dowel pins, and a new gasket. |
19. | Check the connector for rust, dirt, or oil, then connect the connector securely. |
20. | Secure the ATF cooler inlet line with the bolts, and install the harness clamp on the ATF cooler inlet line bracket. |
21. | Refill the transmission with ATF. |
22. | Install the battery base and resonator. |
23. | Install the air cleaner housing and air intake duct. |
24. | Install the battery tray and battery, then secure the battery with its hold-down bracket. |
25. | Connect the battery terminals, and apply grease around the battery terminals. |
26. | Install the splash shield. |
27. | Do the power window control unit reset procedure. |
