Maintenance Schedule for Severe Conditions - Australia and New Zealand Models


Follow the Severe Conditions Maintenance Schedule if the customer's vehicle is driven MAINLY under one or more of the following conditions:


NOTE: If the vehicle is driven OCCASIONALLY under severe conditions, follow the Normal Conditions Maintenance Schedule.

Replace fuel filter R18A1, R18A3 engines, K20Z2 engine
   Replace fuel filter every 40,000 km or 2 years, when the customer    suspects if the fuel are using to contaminated, such as dust 		   l    l   
Replace spark plugs R18A1, R18A3 engines, K20Z2 engine Every 100,000 km 
Inspect drive belt R18A1, R18A3 engines, K20Z2 engine
   Look for cracks and damage, then check the position of the drive belt    auto-tensioner indicator 		 l  l  l  l  l 
Inspect idle speed R18A1, R18A3 engines, K20Z2 engine     l     l 
Replace engine coolant R18A1, R18A3 engines, K20Z2 engine
   Use genuine Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2 		At 200,000 km or 10 years, then every 100,000 km or 5 years 
Replace Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF) SPFM manual transmission, SPGM manual transmission, RPD6 manual transmission
   Use genuine Honda MTF 		  l   l   l  
Replace Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) SPCA automatic transmission, MPMA automatic transmission
   Use genuine Honda ATF-Z1 		  l  l  l  l  
Inspect front and rear brakes
  • Check the brake pad and disc thickness. Check for damage or cracks
  • Check the brake linings for cracking, grazing, wear, and contamination
  • Check the calipers for damage, leaks, and tightness
 		Every 10,000 km or 6 months 
Replace brake fluid
  • Use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid. We recommend genuine Honda Brake Fluid
  • Check that brake fluid level between the upper and lower marks on the reservoir
 		Every 3 years 
Check parking brake adjustment
   Check the parking brake operation 		l l  l  l  l  l

Check lights alignment

Rotate tyres (Check tyre inflation and condition at least once per month) Every 10,000 km 

Visually inspect the following items:

  • Check for correct installation and position, check for cracks, deterioration, rust, and leaks
  • Check tightness of screws, nuts, and joints. If necessary, retighten
 
Tie-rod ends, steering gearbox, and boots
  • Check rack grease and steering linkage
  • Check the boot for damage and leaking grease
 		Every 10,000 km or 6 months 
Suspension components
  • Check the bolts for tightness
  • Check all dust cover for deterioration and damage
 
Driveshaft boots
  • Check the boot and boot band for cracks
  • Check rack grease
 
Brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
   Check the master cylinder, proportioning control valve, and ABS    modulator-control unit and leakage 		l l l l l l l l l l 
All fluid levels and condition of fluids
   Check levels and check for leaks. If necessary, add 
Exhaust system R18A1, R18A3 engines, K20Z2 engine
   Check the exhaust pipe and muffler for damage, leaks, and tightness 
Fuel lines and connections R18A1, R18A3 engines, K20Z2 engine
  • Check fuel lines for loose connections, cracks, and deterioration
  • Retighten loose connections and replace any damaged parts
